Werewolf: Wolf Studies and Action Poses

For school I'm working on some character concepts and I've decided to create two characters. The setting is modern and one character will be a Vampire and the other a Werewolf. I decided to start with the Werewolf first because my knowledge of Wolf anatomy and movement is very weak so I wanted to get a head start on all that.

Lacking my own pet wolf (a shame) I went out and downloaded a fair amount of reference photos of wolves and along with my handy book, The Art of Animal Drawing: Construction, Action Analysis, Caricature I began my research and study of the wolf, primarily the face because that's really the only part of a Werewolf that stays pretty much true to its canine half.

After a few sketches of that I got the idea of this great pose (the top most drawing) and had to draw it. I'm happy with what came out, I'd probably change the size of the head. Right now it seems to be a bit mismatched. The smaller sketch to the right was another idea that came to me after that one but I think I'll flesh it out later and larger.
